ALEX TREBEK CHEATS DEATH IN TERRIFYING WRECK!

“I GUESS it wasn’t my time to go!” “Jeopardy!” host Alex Trebek told The ENQUIRER after he cheated death in a terrifying car crash.

“I lost consciousness. I’m not sure if I actually fell asleep … or blacked out. It was only 2 o’clock in the afternoon and I was tired, but I wasn’t that tired.

“So I’m going to the doctor to get checked out to make sure everything is fine.

“But I know I am very lucky to be alive!”

The 63-year-old quiz show host was driving alone on a rural road on January 30 near Templeton, Calif., where he owns a horse farm, when he apparently lost consciousness at the wheel.

His 1991 Ford pickup truck sideswiped a string of mailboxes, then flew 40 feet through the air before slamming into a road-side ditch.

Miraculously, Trebek walked away without a scratch. He was not cited, but his truck was totaled.

“Alex had worked very hard for two days on his house at Lake Nacimiento, which is about 35 minutes from his farm near Templeton,” said Art Mercado, the manager of Trebek’s horse farm.

“His truck doesn’t have a radio, so it was very quiet and a little warm — the perfect situation to fall asleep.

“Alex said one minute he was driving and everything was fine. The next minute he was slamming into mailboxes, then he went airborne!

“He got a ride back with a guy from the farm who was driving another vehicle ahead of him.

“Everyone wanted Alex to get checked out, but he insisted he didn’t need to go to the hospital.

“And when we found out that he walked away like nothing happened, we started calling him Evel Knievel. It’s absolutely amazing!”
