Multimillionaire TV mogul Aaron Spelling died a heartbroken man. Friends of the legendary producer say that the last days of one of the wealthiest and most powerful people in Hollywood history were marred by family fighting.
And sadly, the 83-year-old producer’s daughter Tori, 33 — who is estranged from her mother — was not at his bedside when he died on June 23 at his palatial California home.
“It’s a true blessing to have had a parent that loved me unconditionally,” the actress said in a statement — perhaps a pointed jab at her mother Candy, to whom she is not speaking. Tori’s mother and brother Randy, 27, released a separate statement after Aaron’s death, which was a result of complications from a stroke he suffered five days earlier.
“For more than 40 years, Aaron Spelling supported this town,” said an insider. “Everyone in Hollywood owes him.
“Yet the one thing he didn’t have was the peace he wanted at home.
“His greatest wish was for a happy, loving family, and he didn’t have that when he died. “It killed him that he couldn’t reunite Tori and Candy. “For Tori not to be at Aaron’s bedside when he passed away is sad proof of how deep the family rift goes.”
