Reportedly the beleaguered hubby and star of Jon & Kate Plus 8 has been checking out apartments in Manhattan.

Gosselin is said to have checked out a unit at Trump Place on the Upper East Side on Friday. The 1 bedroom runs $3,200 per month with a East River view.

On Father's Day, Jon was with the brood in Pennsylvania with wife Kate nowhere to be seen.

As The ENQUIRER reported previously tonight's ep, a special one-hour event on TLC, will herald the couple's split.

Both have been linked to other lovers as the reality series enjoys solid ratings in the wake of their domestic debacle.
