Larry Birkhead is a genetic match as the biological father of Anna Nicole Smith‘s daughter, Dannielynn. The announcement was made after a court hearing ended on Tuesday afternoon in the Bahamas.
Birkhead came to the podium to make the announcement that he was, in fact, the biological father of 7-month-old Dannielynn. The crowd cheered as Larry said, "I told you so!" He also thanked them for their support and said Dannielynn would "be coming home soon." Larry also said he thought Anna would be proud.
Howard K. Stern later expressed his disappointment with the DNA results. Stern said he would not fight Birkhead on custody and that he would help Birkhead get sole custody of Dannielynn. Stern also invited Birkhead to his Bahamas home to visit Dannielynn and the two men embraced.
Anna Nicole’s mother, Virgie Arthur, said she is looking forward to working with Larry to be part of Dannielynn’s life. There will be a custody hearing on Friday in the Bahamas where Arthur is expected to ask for joint custody.
