24 STAR DOING 48 DAYS IN JAIL

description

Kiefer Sutherland was sentenced to serving 48 days in jail on Wednesday for his second DUI conviction and violating probation. Sutherland began his sentence at the Glendale city jail immediately following a court hearing.

“Kiefer made the decision to surrender to custody immediately,” his attorney, Blair Berk, told The Associated Press.

The 24 star must serve all 48 days — unlike some other celebs who’ve gotten out in a matter of minutes due to jail overcrowding. Sutherland will have his own cell and will be expected to work in the laundry room and in the kitchen.

In addition to serving 48 days, the judge also sentenced Sutherland to five years probation, a $510 fine, an 18-month alcohol-education class and weekly alcohol-therapy sessions for six months.
