CASEY ANTHONY JUROR CRISIS

description

The search for unbiased Florida jurors for the trial of accused murder mom CASEY ANTHONY is creating problems and now the judge admitted he’s tracking media  coverage.

Judge Belvin Perry admitted at a recent hearing that he is tracking media coverage of the case across the state of Florida to best determine where  the State has the better chance of picking a jury for the trial.

Jose Baez, Casey’s lead defense counsel wants jurors selected from another city other than Orlando, where local TV and news media covers every tort and motion of the crucial pretrial hearings as attorneys jockey to have witnesses and evidence entered as admissible for jurors to see when the trial begins in May.

Among the concerns Judge Perry is facing are fears that if the location of jury selection is leaked too soon, local media —  as well as national news teams —  will saturate the area with non-stop coverage.

This, the judge feels, will make it more than difficult to pick an impartial jury – one that will weigh the arguments presented by both Prosecution and Defense attorneys.

Anthony’s defense has already argued that Tampa as an alternate venue is tainted because, according to statistics, the area is 2nd only to Orlando in continuing daily coverage of the Anthony case.

Casey Anthony remains in police custody, accused of murdering her 2 year-old daughter Caylee in 2008.
