Brad Pitt really is one strange dude.

According to reports, Mr. Jolie spent $82,000 on a custom home for the Brangie Brood's pet GERBILS.

The pets, whose new home costs more than most humans earn in a year, were selected by Maddox and Pax when in France.

"The boys were really keen to get the gerbils and it was Angelina who reached into the cage to pet them before a store worker got them out," a witness said.

The posh gerbil digs architectural habitat was designed by Brad himself and includes labyrinths, tunnels, multiple platforms, seesaws and heated swimming pools for La Rodentia du Brangie.
