Barbara Walters is telling close pals there’s one place they won’t find her next fall – on TV.
The veteran ABC personality is looking forward to hanging up her mic when her contract expires shortly.
The queen of interviewers is simply "burned out" and wants to spend more time with her boyfriend, Dr. Robert Butler, industry insiders told The ENQUIRER.
"Barbara’s thought long and hard over whether she wants to extend her contract when it expires with ABC this summer," revealed a close source.
"It’s left her with many sleepless nights. ABC sees her as one of its marquee female stars and would like to see her continue, but Barbara’s decided she’s ‘done it all – many times over’ and wants some time for herself.
"Her career has spanned five decades. She told a pal, ‘I don’t want to be 80 and working the phones to land an interview with one of the nobodies who pass for celebrities today.’
