ROSIE O’DONNELL won’t be re-uniting with ex-wife KELLI CARPENTER, sources say.
Sadly, her hope of reuniting with ex-wife Kelli Carpenter has fizzled out.
Rosie will be doing a show for Oprah’s new network, OWN, this fall and will be commuting from New York to Chicago for taping. Needing someone to help care for her home and four youngsters, she turned to her ex-Kelli.
“But her overture to get Kelli to move back in with her failed miserably,” revealed a friend. “Kelli has moved on, and it has left Rosie heartbroken.”
The comedian, 49, had always held out hope that after they split in 2007, it wouldn’t be long before Kelli would see the error of her ways and beg to be taken back.
But as the months turned into years, Kelli, 44, continued to cold-shoulder her ex-spouse – so Rosie began to scheme to win back the partner she legally married in 2004, says an insider.
“She had hoped to make Kelli jealous,” added the source, when she entered into another romance with mother-of-six Tracy Kachtick-Anders.
“That lasted about a year and ended this past February.”
But Kelli had put Rosie behind her and moved on to a new, very happy relationship with girlfriend Anne Steele.
Meanwhile, Rosie’s romance with Tracy crashed and burned.
Rosie feels tremendous pressure and responsibility to make a success of her new OWN show, says the friend.
“But without the emotional support of Kelli, she’s finding it very tough going."
