NEW ANNA NICOLE DEATH INVESTIGATION

The California Department of Justice is investigating Anna Nicole Smith's death. On Friday, Oct. 12, a spokeswoman for the Los Angeles County district attorney's office said authorities had raided six locations, including the offices and residences of two doctors. "The locations searched today are related to doctors who provided medical treatment or prescribed drugs for Anna Nicole Smith or her associates," California Attorney General Jerry Brown said in a statement.

Smith, who died of an accidental drug overdose in February at the age of 39, was found with 11 prescription medications in her Florida hotel room the day she passed away. Her psychiatrist, Dr. Khristine Eroshevich, authorized the prescriptions and has been under investigation by the Medical Board of California. Eroshevich is reported to be one of the doctors whose home was searched. Anna's lawyer and lover, Howard K. Stern, is reported to have been at Eroshevich's home when agents from the California Department of Justice arrived.

Dr. Sandeep Kapoor — who prescribed methadone to Smith shortly before she died — has confirmed he through his lawyer that his home and offices were raided.
